A HIV-positive male with a puzzling skin eruption
A 34-year-old HIV positive man complaining of fever, headache and hoarseness, presented with a skin eruption on both arms and lesions in the mouth and on the penis. The diagnosis of syphilis was made clinically by the dermatologist and confirmed by a positive serology. The incidence of new syphilitic infections in homosexual men is increasing in Western countries.
