Echocardiography in severe pulmonary embolism
We present echocardiographic pictures ofa 51-year-old female who suffered a severe pulmonary embolism with a secondary right ventricular pressure overload. She received a thrombolytic therapy. Afterwards, the bulging of the ventricular septum towards the left ventricle disappeared.
This short case demonstrates the utility of echocardiography in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary embolism.
