Indications for abdominal radiological investigations
Today several imaging techniques for the evaluation of abdominal disorders are available: ultrasonography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), conventional radiography and barium studies.
Due to recent technical evolutions and improvement in image quality on the one hand and budgetary limitations on the other, it is of utmost importance to select the most appropriate examination from this whole range of possibilities.
