Abstract :
Geen samenvatting

A 69-year-old patient with cough, dyspnea and yellow nails
The medical history of a 69-year-old patient with therapy-resistant pleural effusion, chronic cough and yellow nails is presented. The triad of yellow nails, lymphedema and chronic respiratory symptoms is highly suggestive for the “yellow nail syndrome” (YNS). YNS is a clinical diagnosis, based on the classic triad. Therapy is mainly symptomatical. A good follow-up is needed due to the increased mortality risk.
